Before Ramadan there is the preparations and post Ramadan is drawn out entertaining for ‘Eid al Fitr (عـيـد الـفِــطر); people usually are busy entertaining their own guests that many people don’t leave their house to visit others. So what happens is they end up visiting a day, one week or even a month after ‘Eid and turning up on your doorstep saying ‘Eid Mubarak.
So, although it still may seem late, it’s not really! There is still time to go out and buy that special outfit for ‘Eid. People always leave things till the last minute. I remember escorting my sisters in the final few days of Ramadan, shopping around for that special outfit. The prices were always high, the things on sale were rubbish and we would end up buying whatever we liked at an extreme price.
So, whilst you still have time and you haven’t spent all your income on stocking up for Ramadan, go and shop. Do it now, otherwise be prepared to face the chaos that is ‘last minute ‘Eid shopping’. The streets will be filled with people as if people were still shopping for Ramadan.
Mum and I went to the market and it was craaaa-zzzzzzzzy! We went to buy a huge set of extra dishes for invitations for Ramadan and for fruit. My family love fruit! (^_^)
The prices are good in Queen’s Market on Upton Park Street a.k.a Green Street.
The sign ‘Paw-paw’ made my sides crease from laughing.
So, make sure you wise plan your shopping as I’m sure you meticulously plan your meals for the 30 days of fast!
