Here is another dessert I love to eat and hate to share with people, but I’m giving the recipe away today and hope you all like it.

First, here is a bit of info on the dessert:

Mat (green)+ cha (tea) = Matcha = Green Tea

It’s a simple Japanese dessert I usually end up eating on my own anyway, due to it containing matcha, which does have a slight strong smell and flavour. The taste and smell of matcha is very minty and earthy. I would say, if you’re into Aero mint flavour or After Eight chocolate, you should like this dessert.

Ingredients:

100ml single cream

300g of plain white chocolate

20g unsalted butter (normal butter will do fine) and extra butter for coating

2 tbsp of green tea (matcha) powder

Extra matcha powder for sprinkling later on

Equipment:

Small saucepan

Silicone/rubber spatula

Square tray

1) Pour 100ml of single cream into the saucepan and heat it on low till the cream lightly bubbles.

2) Once you see the cream begin to bubble, you take the saucepan off heat and add the 300g of plain white chocolate and with the silicone/rubber spatula mix it all till it’s smooth with no lumps.

***TIP:To make the chocolate melt quicker, you should have it cut or broken into small pieces***

3) Add the butter and mix well till it’s smooth

4) Once smooth, add the 2 tbsp of matcha powder and mix thoroughly again till the entire mixture is smooth and green, with no dry bits of powder

5) Cover the square tray well in butter or with grease proof paper,

(The size of this tray was 18cm x 11cm/ 7inch x 3.5inch and the mixture fit in perfectly. It's a disposal baking tray that should be easy to find in most supermarkets)

Then pour the mixture into a square tray and leave in the fridge for 3-4 hours

6) Once 3-4 hours have passed take the tray out and cut into 1-2 inch cubes and dust with the extra matcha powder. The dusting is purely optional. It may actually be too strong for some so you can skip this last step 🙂

Enjoy! ^_^
